Adams Realtors conducts a monthly survey of Atlanta’s Intown residential real estate market.
We compare sales data for each submarket on a rolling 12 month basis. The categories are “Average Sales Price”, number of “Days on the Market” and the “Number of Units Sold”.
Our January 2009 report compared the time periods January 2007 – December 2007 and January 2008 – December 2008. The “submarkets” covered in this survey include both neighborhoods and small municipalities that make up Intown Atlanta.
The Average Sales Price is the average of all single family residential sales with a submarket. The Days on the Market is the average number of days a property within the submarket takes to sell. The Number of Units indicates the total number of sales within a submarket during each 12 month time period. Our source is Atlanta’s First Multiple Listing Service. As such, the survey will not account for any transactions such as those sold “For Sale by Owner” .
Tomorrow’s blog will have an overview of January’s survey. Later blogs will discuss specific submarkets.
